Summer Reset: Boating on the Thames, St Ives Adventures & Creative Days in Wales
Summer Reset: Time Off, Coastal Adventures & Creative Vibes.
Hello everyone, I hope you're all enjoying the summer so far. I’ve just come back from a lovely extended break through June and July and wanted to share a few highlights with you.
The time away was exactly what I needed. I spent a few peaceful days in Henley-on-Thames, pottering about on the river in a boat, soaking up the scenery and doing plenty of walking along the banks. There’s something wonderfully restorative about being on the water and exploring the countryside at a gentle pace.
Next up was a trip to St Ives in Cornwall. More boating, but this time on the sea – which felt completely different and very refreshing. The weather was kind, the light was beautiful, and I made the most of it with long coastal walks and some excellent meals out with friends. There’s nothing quite like an evening spent with good company after a day by the water.
The final leg of my break took me to Wales to stay with my best friend. She’s a talented artist and kindly started teaching me to paint. It was such a relaxing and inspiring few days – we spent hours chatting, creating, and just enjoying the slower pace. I’ve come home with a new (if very beginner!) hobby and lots of happy memories.
Back home, a couple of exciting parcels were waiting for me from Sado Toys and Serious Kit. I’ve been looking forward to trying out some new items, so I’ll be exploring those over the coming weeks. I always appreciate the quality and thoughtfulness that goes into their products.
Looking ahead to August, Aunty Amy is coming to visit for a few days. We’re only holding one day of sessions and then we’re heading out to enjoy ourselves. We’ve also had an invite to a private local festival, so we plan on letting our hair down… yippee!

Overall it’s been a gentle, joyful summer so far – full of water, walks, good food, creativity, and catching up with people I love. I’m feeling recharged and ready to get back into things here on the site.
